It's the first option of front load washer that are the most popular amongst home users.

So what's the reason for front load being the most prominent types of washing machines?

These genres of machines are quite popular due to better performance. These machines need to be filled only to a certain specified extent with water (almost one third of conventional top loaders), thus saving a lot of water in the process. They operate by lifting clothing articles to the top of the horizontal tub fitted with an automatic door and drop the clothes back into the water in a pre defined cycle. They give best performance with low-foaming, high-efficiency detergent and the likes which are available in numbers. Front load washers can handle an up to 20-pound load in one go.

Better moisture extraction in the spin cycle of a front loading type of machine reduces drying time and hence reduces energy consumption also. Given the fact that these machines tend to enhance clothing life in a longer run compared to other types is a big advantage. Many of the models can be fused with a dryer to save floor space and decrease work load. Though these machines are highly efficient they command a steep price as an initial investment. Also if one has problem in ankles and bending one should avoid these as dealing with wet clothes while bending can be a problem for some.
