Bosch WFVC6450UC Washer Offers Big Money Back to Consumers

Are you shopping for a front load washer? If so, and you're reading this during the week of February 8, consider your search over. Bosch Appliances has just put an offer on the table for their new Vision WFVC6450UC washer which is one of the better rebate deals that I seen in the last 5 years in the appliance business. There are 0 in rebates being offered on this washer, a number that is basically unheard of when talking about rebates on single appliances.

Plus the washer is relatively inexpensive (considering what it offers), as it retails for around 9, so you are netted down to 9 after the rebate is factored in.

Keep in mind that this is not some entry-level, middling washer that Bosch is trying to give away. The reviews on the Bosch WFVC6450UC have been excellent and I can attest that I haven't heard of any complaints from the scores of customers we have sold them to.

Many front loading washers start with price points around 00. Take a look at sample washers from Electrolux, Whirlpool or even Miele, whose jumbo front load washer is over 00. With the Bosch Vision 6450UC, you get:

- Energy Star certified unit

- 1200RPM's of spin speed which lowers your drying time

- Anti-vibration technology built into unit to prevent noise and jostling from the unit

- 15 different wash cycles

Another thing to note is that the WFVC6450 does NOT include a steam option. This is good news because a steam cycle in a washer is nothing less than a marketing gimmick geared on drawing a few more dollars out of your pocket. I even have a problem with steam cycles in dryers, but that's fodder for a future article.

What you need to understand is that the WFVC6450UC is not a stripped-down or entry-level washer. It is part of Bosch's 500-series, which has always delivered the greatest value in Bosch's appliance line.

You can definitely trade up for an 800 washer such as the Bosch WFVC8440UC washer which is going to add the AquaStop feature which prevents water damage from leaks and also offers a different control panel by which you operate the machine. But is that worth the several hundred dollar upcharge + the lack of the insane rebate on the 500 seres WFVC6450UC? I think not.
